About and contact

This site is the home of Frozen Bubble: Battle Royale, a free, open-source port of the classic Linux puzzle game Frozen Bubble to SDL3. It runs on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and in a web browser, and keeps the original game's levels, artwork, music and network protocol while adding online rooms of up to twenty players, accounts, online highscores and weekly rankings. This page says who is behind it and how to get in touch.

Who makes it

The port is maintained by one independent developer, with contributions from anyone who sends a fix through GitHub. It is a fan project: it is not made or endorsed by the Frozen-Bubble Team, who wrote the original game in 2002 and whose artwork and music it uses. The history page tells that story and credits them; the full list of contributors to the original is in AUTHORS.

The Android version on Google Play is published by Solina AI LLC, a Texas limited liability company. The company makes no claim over the original game's code, artwork or music.

What this site is for

The pages here are written for players:

The site has no accounts, comments or sign-in of its own. What the game and the site store is described in the privacy policy.

Free software

The game is released under the GNU General Public License, version 2, like the original. Its complete source, the server included, is public at github.com/dchau360/frozen-bubble-sdl3, and anyone may build it, change it or run their own server. Builds for every platform are on the releases page.

Contact

There is no support email address. Questions, bug reports, feature requests, and privacy or data-removal requests all go to the public issue tracker, which the maintainer reads: github.com/dchau360/frozen-bubble-sdl3/issues. Using the tracker keeps answers visible to the next player with the same question. Please do not post your account code there or anywhere else: it is the only key to your account.

For a chat with other players, or to find someone for a game, join the community Discord server; its #net-games channel shows the results of online rounds as they are played.
